Amal Khatri’s career began at National power utility, where he worked as an electrical engineer during a period of rapid transformation in the global energy sector. Immersed in the challenge of modernising complex energy networks, he developed a deep understanding of how technology, strategy, and leadership must converge to deliver lasting impact

This insight shaped Amal’s path into transformational leadership. His career evolved from engineering to executive roles spanning energy, space, and technology, each marked by a commitment to innovation and purposeful change. As Executive Director of the South African National Space Agency, Amal led national satellite programs, cultivated strategic partnerships with NASA, the European Space Agency, and BRICS nations, and guided initiatives that strengthened Africa’s role in the global space economy

Now based in Australia, Amal continues to apply his international experience across the energy and space industries — driving strategy, building partnerships, and helping organisations embrace the opportunities of technological advancement and sustainability..
